Many women over 35 years of age who happen to be unexpectedly single are seizing their chance at freedom many of which are scarred by previous relationships with grumpy husbands. Up until fairly recently, a women aged 35 years and above was not considered a romantic candidate, more like a loyal sidekick to their husband, and if she was still single, a pathetic man eater. The question is though, why? What has changed societies mindset? Answer - sexy mature renowned role models such as Demi Moore and Aston Kutcher, Classic films such as "Bridges of Madison County" have changed the landscape of dating across the world allowing women to openly seek such companionship.
Apart from the Hollywood hoopla that paved the way for cougars to date young bucks, romance and love affairs that are forming between the generations can be assigned to other factors. What much of this dating revolution can be attributed to is that many older women who are used to old school dating customs consider themselves to be in touch with today's trends and simply want a piece of the action and are not willing to settle into a relationship and have children, or perhaps their children have grown up and are now independent.
Dating websites are also playing a big part in connecting cubs and cougars. These days, there are internet dating sites for just about any need or want.
Statistics and history tells us that older men are passed their sexual peak however women are often still to reach their sexual prime by age 35. Older guys more often than not are immersed in their careers and what spare time they do have is devoted to golf, watching the game and drinking beer, or entertaining the children hence leaving little time to please their lady or maintain their relationship.
The current man drought seems to be ever increasing according to a recent publication released by the centre of sex and health at The University of Latrobe. Single older women are tapping into the main resource of available men who happen to fall into the under 30's age bracket. Thanks to Hollywood and other influences, many cougars consider it fashionable to mosey around town (some call it mutton dressed up as lamb) hoping to attract the gaze of young men.
Staunch critics will still argue that cougar women seeking sexual relations with younger guys are tacky with the amount of unfavorable judgment growing depending on the size of the age gap.
